Human Islet-Derived Precursor Cells (hIPCs) provided by Innoprot have been isolated from human normal pancreatic tissue. hIPCs have cryopreserved as primary cell culture and delivered frozen. hIPCs are guaranteed to further expand for 10 population doublings in the conditions provided in the technical sheet.

Features/Benefits


The pancreas is located behind the lower part of the stomach. It makes insulin and enzymes that help the body digest and use food. Throughout the pancreas are clusters of cells called the islets of Langerhans. Pancreatic islet beta-cell replenishment can be driven by epithelial cells from exocrine pancreas via epithelial-mesenchymal transition and the reverse process MET, while specified pancreatic mesenchymal cells control islet cell development and maintenance. Human islet-derived precursor cells (hIPCs) are a type of mesenchymal stem/stromal cell (MSC) capable of expansion and appear to naturally and efficiently differentiate into clusters of islet-like cells. hIPCs displays a mesenchymal character and express lineage-specific marker genes upon induction toward pancreatic endocrine and mesenchymal pathways of differentiation.
