Data Sheet

CD4+ Helper T Cells are isolated from mononuclear cells by positive selection using immunomagnetic cell separation procedures.

Originating in the bone marrow and maturing in the Thymus, T cells become CD4+ T Cells after gaining an affinity for the MHC II class receptor. Upon maturation, this cell type spreads throughout the body and lymph nodes in its native form, awaiting activation by the antigen each T cell receptor is preprogrammed to respond to.

CD4+ Helper T Cells oversee the action of the human immune system; they are involved in activating and directing other immune cells. CD4+ Helper T Cells are crucial in determining B cell antibody class switching, the activation and growth of Cytotoxic T Cells, and maximizing bactericidal activity of phagocytes (i.e. macrophages).
