Ischemic Stroke in vitro Model - Oxigen Glucose Deprivation Assay

Ischemic Stroke in vitro model developed by Innoprot is based on the exposure of rat primary neurons under Oxygen-Glucose Deprivation conditions. Ischemia-like conditions are induced by replacing the normal O2/CO2 equilibrated medium with 94,7% N2/5% CO2/0,3% O2 equilibrated medium  maintaining cells in a hypoxic chamber in combination with glucose deprivation.

In vitro model of Ischemic Stroke - Assay Details

Primary Neurons culture are starved in a special incubator without oxygen and cultured using media without glucose, mimmicking an Oxigen Glucose Deprivation (OGD). After oxygen glucose deprivation, different studies are performed to analyze the different stages of the cell death process and the possible recovery of damaged neurons.
