Immortalized Human Hair Dermal Papilla Cells (IM-HHDPC) provided by Innoprot have been developed by immortalizing primary human hair dermal papilla cells with SV40 Large T antigen.

Immortalized cells were controlled passaging side by side with the primary cells. Primary cells go into senescence after the 5th passage while the SV40‐tranduced cells go beyond 30 passages.

Each vial of Immortalized Human Hair Dermal Papilla Cells contains more than 1 million viable cells. Innoprot also offers optimized medium and reagents for the growth of IM-HHDPC which are quality tested together and guaranteed to give maximum performance as a global solution for in vitro IM-HHDPC culture.

Size/Quantity: 1 million cells / vial

The dermal papillae are a highly active group of cells from the dermis mesenchyme origin. They are present at the base of the hair follicles. They play a crucial role in hair growth cycle by inducing follicle development from the epidermis to produce hair fiber. Epithelial-mesenchymal interaction of hair follicular cells regulates hair growth, which involves various molecular pathways such as BMP and Wnt signaling. Human Hair Dermal Papilla Cells gradually lose their hair inductivity and proliferation capacity in long-term cultures. Continuous advancement in culture techniques will help provide better models for studying hair biology and hair reconstitution in regenerative medicine. Immortalized Human Hair Dermal Papilla Cells also allow to stablish in vitro models for High Throughput and High Content Screening.
