5-HT2C Serotonin Receptor Assay

5-HT2C Serotonin Receptor Assay (HTR2C) from Innoprot allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate HTR2C. When a ligand binds to the HTR2C, it activates a G protein; which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. The binding of an agonist to HTR2C induces mobilization of intracellular calcium and also activation of PKC via the PLC–IP3 and DAG pathways, respectively.

5-HT2C Serotonin Receptor Assay comprises the measurement of calcium concentration in the cytosol. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring HTR2C receptor activation process in living cells.
