When a ligand binds to the CCKAR, it activates a G protein; which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. The binding of CCK to CCKAR induces mobilization of intracellular calcium and activation of PKC via the PLC–IP3 and DAG pathways, respectively.
CCK1 Cholecystokinin Receptor Assay comprises the measurement of calcium concentration in the cytosol. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring CCKAR receptor activation process in High Throughput Screening.
