M5 Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor Assay (CHRM5) from Innoprot allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate CHRM5. When a ligand binds to the CHRM5, it activates a G protein; which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. The binding of an agonist to CHRM5 induces mobilization of intracellular calcium and also activation of PKC via the PLC–IP3 and DAG pathways, respectively.
M5 Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor Assay comprises the measurement of Diacylglycerol (DAG) in the cytosol via PKC activation. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring CHRM5 receptor activation process in living cells.
