Urotensin II Receptor Assay (UTS2R) from Innoprot allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate UTS2R. When a ligand binds to the UTS2R, it activates a G protein; which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. The binding of an agonist to UTS2R induces mobilization of intracellular calcium and also activation of PKC via the PLC–IP3 and DAG pathways, respectively.
Urotensin II Receptor Assay comprises the measurement of calcium concentration in the cytosol. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring UTS2R receptor activation process in living cells.
