Histamine H1 Receptor Assay from Innoprot provides the analysis of both signalling pathways involving GPCR activation; G protein by Calcium flux and β-arrestin recruitment using Nomad multiplex technology. The primary transduction mechanism involves Gq/G11 family transducers, so we measure Ca2+ flux in combination with β-arrestin recruitment in this assay.
Histamine 1 Receptor stimulation leads to the synthesis and release of several neurochemicals and neuromodulators; such as prostacyclin, platelet–activating factor, and nitric oxide (NO). In addition, stimulation of the H1 receptor causes changes in vascular permeability, particularly the postcapillary venule as a result of endothelial cell contraction. Antihistamines, which act on this receptor, are anti-allergy drugs.
