When a ligand binds to the CCKAR, it activates a G protein; which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. The binding of CCK to CCKAR induces mobilization of intracellular calcium and activation of PKC via the PLC–IP3 and DAG pathways, respectively.
