Green Fluorescent PC-12 Cell Line

Green Fluorescent PC-12 Cell Line (aka LINTERNA PC-12) has been developed through stable transfection of PC-12 cell line with tGFP. This cell line expresses green fluorescent protein gene sequences as free cytoplasmatic proteins. Each vial of cells contains more than 3 million viable cells stably expressing tGFP with G418 resistance gene:

LINTERNA PC-12 Cell line is ready to use in cell-based assay applications. This stably transfected clonal cell line provides consistent levels of expression, which helps simplify the interpretation of results. Green Fluorescent PC-12 Cell Line also allows to stablish in vitro models for HIgh Throughput and High Content Screening.

Green Fluorescent PC-12 Cell Line are suitable for both, in vitro and in vivo experimentation.

About PC-12 Cell line:

PC‐12 is a cancer cell line established from a pheochromocytoma of the rat adrenal medulla in 1976. They are neuron‐like small cells and they normally do not attach and grow in clumps of small cells in suspension; but also attach to collagen-coated surfaces. PC‐12 cell line is a useful model system for neurobiological and neurochemical studies; expressing xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes. They have small vesicles which hold catecholamines, mostly dopamine but also limited amount of norepinephrine, and release of these neurotransmitters give rise to spikes due to changes in current similar to chromaffin cells.

About turboGFP protein:

tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda). It possesses bright green fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 482/ 502 nm) that is visible earlier than fluorescence of other green fluorescent proteins. TurboGFP is useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is also useful for cell and organelle labeling and tracking the promoter activity.
