About SK-BR-3 Cell line:
SK-BR-3 is a human breast cancer cell line that overexpresses the Her2 (Neu/ErbB-2) gene product. These cells display an epithelial morphology in tissue culture and are also capable of forming poorly differentiated tumors in immunocompromised mice. The SK-BR-3 cells and products derived from it are used often as positive controls in assays for Her2. In addition, the cell line is also a useful preclinical model to screen for therapeutic agents targeting Her2 and to delineate mechanisms of resistance to Her2-targeted therapies.
About turboGFP protein:
tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda). It possesses bright green fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 482/ 502 nm) that is visible earlier than fluorescence of other green fluorescent proteins. TurboGFP is useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is also useful for cell and organelle labeling and tracking the promoter activity.
