Red Fluorescent NIH/3T3 Cell Line

Red Fluorescent NIH/3T3 Cell Line (aka VAMPIRO NIH/3T3) has been developed through stable transfection of NIH/3T3 cell line with tFP602. This cell line expresses red fluorescent protein gene sequences as free cytoplasmatic proteins. Each vial of cells contains more than 3 million viable cells stably expressing tFP602 with puromycin resistance gene:

VAMPIRO NIH/3T3 Cell line is ready to use in cell-based assay applications. This stably transfected clonal cell line provides consistent levels of expression, which helps simplify the interpretation of results. Red Fluorescent NIH/3T3 Cell Line also allows to stablish in vitro models for HIgh Throughput and High Content Screening.

About NIH/3T3 Cell line:

NIH 3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells come from a cell line isolated in 1962. 3T3 refers to the cell transfer and inoculation protocol for the line, and means “3-day transfer, inoculum 3 x 105 cells”. Using this protocol, the immortal cell line begins to thrive and stabilize in cell culture after about 20-30 generations of in vitro growth. The scientists who first cultured this cell line, obtained the cells from desegregated NIH Swiss mouse embryo fibroblasts. The cell line has since become a standard fibroblast cell line. 3T3 cells are sensitive to sarcoma virus focus formation, as well as leukemia virus.

About turboFP602 protein:

TurboFP602 protein is a red shifted variant of the red fluorescent protein TurboRFP from sea anemone Entacmaea quadricolor [Merzlyak et al., 2007]. It possesses true-red fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 574/ 602 nm) that is optimal for detection via most popular filter sets. TurboFP602 exhibits fast maturation and also high pH stability. TurboFP602 is very useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is also useful for cell and organelle labeling and tracking the promoter activity.
