Green Fluorescent SK-OV-3 Cell Line

Green Fluorescent SK-OV-3 Cell Line (aka LINTERNA SK-OV-3) has been developed through stable transfection of SK-OV-3 cell line with tGFP. This cell line expresses green fluorescent protein gene sequences as free cytoplasmatic proteins. Each vial of cells contains more than 3 million viable cells stably expressing tGFP with G418 resistance gene:

LINTERNA SK-OV-3 Cell line is ready to use in cell-based assay applications. This stably transfected clonal cell line provides consistent levels of expression, which helps simplify the interpretation of results. Green Fluorescent SK-OV-3 Cell Line also allows to stablish in vitro models for HIgh Throughput and High Content Screening.

Green Fluorescent SK-OV-3 Cell Line are suitable for both, in vitro and in vivo experimentation.

About SK-OV-3 Cell line:

The human ovary cancer cell line SK-OV-3 was derived from the ascitic fluid of a 64 year old Caucasian female with an ovarian tumor in 1973. SK-OV-3 cell line exhibit epithelial adherent morphology. In nude mice, it forms moderately well-differentiated adenocarcinoma consistent with ovarian primary cells. These cells are resistant to tumor necrosis factor and to other cytotoxic drugs such as diphtheria toxin, cisplatin, and adriamycin. The SK-OV-3 cell line forms colonies in soft agar, which serves as a surrogate assay for tumorigenicity. Intra-peritoneal injection of these cells into immunocompromised mice results in the growth of tumors resembling clear cell adenocarcinoma, within two to three months..

About turboGFP protein:

tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda). It possesses bright green fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 482/ 502 nm) that is visible earlier than fluorescence of other green fluorescent proteins. TurboGFP is useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is also useful for cell and organelle labeling and tracking the promoter activity.
