Blau and colleagues from the original mouse myoblast line created by D. Yaffe and O. Saxel, differentiates quickly into contractile myotubes and synthesizes typical muscle proteins. When exposed to bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2), the differentiation pathway shifts from myoblastic to osteoblastic.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>About turboGFP protein:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda). It possesses bright green fluorescence (excitation\/ emission max = 482\/ 502 nm) that is visible earlier than fluorescence of other green fluorescent proteins. TurboGFP is useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial.
