BB2 Bombesin Receptor, previously called gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), is a G protein-coupled receptor whose endogenous ligand is gastrin releasing peptide (GRP). It appears in the pancreas and also in the stomach, adrenal cortex and brain. Gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) regulates numerous functions of the gastrointestinal and central nervous systems; including release of gastrointestinal hormones, smooth muscle cell contraction, and epithelial cell proliferation. In CNS, Bombesin-like peptides induce satiety and play a role in thermoregulation and induce histamine-independent pruritus. It is also a potent mitogen for neoplastic tissues. HiTSeeker are cell lines stably expressing label-free GPCRs, also known as seven-(pass)-transmembrane domain receptors. Each vial of HiTSeeker BB2 Bombesin Receptor Cell Line contains U2OS cells stably expressing BB2 Receptor with no tag. HiTSeeker Cell lines proliferate in vitro maintaining GPCR expression following the cell culture manual.<\/p>\n

Innoprot HiTSeeker BB2 Bombesin Receptor Cell Line allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate BB2 receptor. When a ligand binds to the BB2 receptor, it activates a G protein, which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. HiTSeeker BB2 Receptor cell line has been validated measuring calcium concentration changes in the cytosol upon activation with GRP. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring BB2 receptor activation process in High Throughput Screening.<\/p>\n
