Prostaglandin receptors or prostanoid receptors represent a sub-class of cell surface membrane receptors. Prostaglandins are a group of lipid compounds that participate in a wide range of body functions. EP2 Prostanoid Receptor, which belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor familiy, is one of four receptors which bind with and mediate cellular responses principally to prostaglandin E2) (PGE2). EP2 Receptor generally binds to PGE2 with lesser affinity and responsiveness to certain other prostanoids. This receptor is present in several tissues, such as human small intestine, lung, media of arteries and arterioles of the kidney, thymus, uterus, brain cerebral cortex, brain striatum, brain hippocampus, corneal epithelium, corneal choriocapillaries, Myometriuml cells, eosinophiles, sclera of the eye, articular cartilage, the corpus cavernosum of the penis, and airway smooth muscle cells. Each vial of HiTSeeker EP2 Prostanoid Receptor Cell Line contains HEK293 cells stably expressing EP2 Receptor with no tag. HiTSeeker Cell lines proliferate in vitro maintaining GPCR expression following the cell culture manual.<\/p>\n

Innoprot HiTSeeker EP2 Prostanoid Receptor Cell Line allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate EP2 receptor. When a ligand binds to the EP2R, it activates a G protein, which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by cAMP. HiTSeeker EP2 Receptor cell line has been validated measuring cAMP concentration changes in the cytosol upon activation with PGE2. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring EP2 Receptor activation process in High Throughput Screening.<\/p>\n
