They are epithelial-like cells growing as monolayer. These cells proliferate abnormally rapidly, even compared to other cancer cells. HeLa cells have an active version of the enzyme telomerase during cell division, which prevents the incremental shortening of telomeres that is related with aging and eventual cell death.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>About turboGFP protein:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda).
