The gingiva comprises epithelial and connective tissues forming a collar of masticatory mucosa attached to both; teeth and alveolar bone. Gingival epithelium constitutes of a stratified squamous keratinized epithelium while the oral sulcular epithelium appears to be stratified and non-keratinized. Gingival epithelium consists of three regions: oral gingival epithelium (OGE), sulcular epithelium (SE) and Junctional epithelium (JE). As a special structure at dento-gingival junction, JE is different from other epitheliums (OGE, SE) in origin; as the cell morphology, proliferation and differentiation. Human Gingival epithelial cells (GECs) are an important tool to study interactions between periodontal pathogens such as Porphyromonas gingivalis and the host, and the consequences of this interaction for the progression of periodontal disease.
Human Gingival Epithelial Cells
Human Gingival Epithelial Cells
Human Gingival Epithelial Cells (HGEpiC) provided by Innoprot are isolated from human healthy gingiva. HGEpiC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial of Human Gingival Epithelial Cells contains more than 500.000 viable cells. They are guaranteed to further expand for 10 population doublings following the instructions provided in the technical sheet.
Innoprot also offers optimized medium and reagents for the growth of Human Gingival Epithelial Cells which are quality tested together and guaranteed to give maximum performance as a global solution for in vitro HGEpiC culture.
