Human Prostate Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HPrMEC) provided by Innoprot are isolated from human healthy prostate tissue. HPrMEC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial of Human Prostate Microvascular Endothelial Cells contains more than 500.000 viable cells. They are guaranteed to further expand for 10 population doublings following the instructions provided in the technical sheet.

Microvascular endothelial cells play a central role in inflammation, tumor metastasis, wound healing, and tissue engineering. Microvascular endothelial cells line blood vessels and contribute to many biological processes such as hematosis, coagulation, and trafficking of lymphocytes. Endothelial cells are important for the extravasation of leukocytes from the circulation into sites of tissue inflammation. In prostate cancer, the interactions between prostate cancer cells and endothelial cells in microvessels play an important role in prostate tumor metastasis. Human prostate microvascular endothelial cells (HPrMEC) may be actively related with prostate growth, due to the secretion of regulatory factors such as IL-6. HPrMEC will provide an in vitro model in the pathophysiological studies of prostatic diseases; such as prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia or prostate cancer. They are also useful tools to stablish in vitro disease models for High Throughput and High Content Screening.
