The project “Generation of biotechnology tools to speed up the drug repurposing process against COVID-19 (SARS2-BIOTOOLS)” has been granted by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain and CDTI confinancing with ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
The aim of the project is to generate cell lines stably expressing the proteins necessary for SARS-CoV-2 cell entry. Likewise, pseudotyped lentiviral particles will be generated to allow the rapid identification of drugs that prevent infection without the need to use the virus.
Additionally to these products, Innoprot is generating a family of cell lines stably expressing the different SARS-CoV-2 proteins and their mutants, which will help to understand better the SARS-CoV-2 behaviour, infection and progression.
