Green Fluorescent PC-3 Cell Line

Green Fluorescent PC-3 Cell Line (aka LINTERNA PC-3) has been developed through stable transfection of PC-3 cell line with tGFP. This cell line expresses green fluorescent protein gene sequences as free cytoplasmatic proteins. Each vial of cells contains more than 3 million viable cells stably expressing tGFP with G418 resistance gene:

LINTERNA PC-3 Cell line is ready to use in cell-based assay applications. This stably transfected clonal cell line provides consistent levels of expression, which helps simplify the interpretation of results. Green Fluorescent PC-3 Cell Line also allows to stablish in vitro models for HIgh Throughput and High Content Screening.

Green Fluorescent PC-3 Cell Line are suitable for both, in vitro and in vivo experimentation.

About PC-3 Cell line:

PC-3 cell line was initiated from a bone metastasis of a grade IV prostatic adenocarcinoma from a 62-year-ol Caucasian male. These cells do not respond to androgens, glucocorticoids, or epidermal or fibroblast growth factors. PC-3 cells are useful in investigating the biochemical changes in advanced prostatic cancer cells and in assessing their response to chemotherapeutic agents. Moreover, they are useful to create subcutaneous tumors in mice in order to investigate a model of the tumor environment in the context of the organism. Due to their high metastatic potential, these cells are also useful to develop metastasis mouse models.

About turboGFP protein:

tGFP is an improved variant of the green fluorescent protein CopGFP from copepoda Pontellina plumata (Arthropoda; Crustacea; Maxillopoda; Copepoda). It possesses bright green fluorescence (excitation/ emission max = 482/ 502 nm) that is visible earlier than fluorescence of other green fluorescent proteins. TurboGFP is useful for applications where fast appearance of bright fluorescence is crucial. It is also useful for cell and organelle labeling and tracking the promoter activity.
