HiTSeeker are cell lines stably expressing label-free GPCRs, also known as seven-(pass)-transmembrane domain receptors. Each vial of HiTSeeker TSH Receptor Cell Line contains HEK293 cells stably expressing human thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor with no tag. HiTSeeker Cell lines proliferate in vitro maintaining GPCR expression following the cell culture manual.

Innoprot HiTSeeker TSH Receptor Cell Line allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate TSHR. When a ligand binds to the TSHR, it activates a G protein, which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by second messengers (cAMP). HiTSeeker TSH Receptor cell line has been validated measuring cAMP concentration changes in the cytosol upon activation with rhTSH. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring TSH receptor activation process in High Throughput Screening.

The thyrotropin receptor (or TSH receptor) is a receptor that responds to thyroid-stimulating hormone («thyrotropin») and stimulates the production of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Recombinatn human TSH allow to manipulate endocrine function of thyroid-derived cells, as part of the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer. The TSH receptor is a member of the Glycoprotein hormone receptors family of integral membrane proteins. It is primarily present on the surface of the thyroid epithelial cells, but also appears on adipose tissue and fibroblasts. The latter explains the reason of the myxedema finding during Graves disease.
