VPAC1 Receptor Assay

VPAC1 Receptor Assay

VPAC1 Receptor Assay (VIPR1) from Innoprot measures VIPR1 activation using Nomad Biosensors technology. VPAC1 Receptor signaling occurs via adenylate cyclase stimulation through trimeric Gs proteins, increasing cAMP, and downstream L-type calcium channel interaction.

In this assay, we measure the receptor activation/inhibition by cAMP accumulation using cAMP-Nomad Biosensor. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring VPAC1 Receptor activation process in living cells.

Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor 1, aka VPAC1, encodes a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide, a small neuropeptide. VPAC1 is present in several tissues; such as brain, lung, prostate, peripheral blood leukocytes, liver, small intestine, heart, spleen, placenta, kidney, thymus and testis. VIP plays an important role in smooth muscle relaxation, exocrine and endocrine secretion, and also water and ion flux in lung and intestinal epithelia.
