HiTSeeker are cell lines stably expressing label-free GPCRs, also known as seven-(pass)-transmembrane domain receptors. Each vial of HiTSeeker OTR Cell Line contains U2OS cells stably expressing Oxytocin Receptor with no tag. HiTSeeker Cell lines proliferate in vitro maintaining GPCR expression following the cell culture manual.

Innoprot HiTSeeker OTR Cell Line allows to assay compounds, or analyze their capability to modulate oxytocin receptor. When a ligand binds to the OTR, it activates a G protein, which in turn, triggers a cellular response mediated by calcium. HiTSeeker OTR cell line has been validated measuring calcium concentration changes in the cytosol upon activation with oxytocin. The high reproducibility of this assay allows monitoring OT receptor activation process in High Throughput Screening.

Oxytocin receptors are a type of G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that bind to the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin receptors are essential for mediating the effects of oxytocin on various physiological and behavioral processes related to social bonding, reproduction, and emotional regulation. Research into oxytocin signaling continues to shed light on its complex role in human biology and behavior. Oxytocin receptors appear in various tissues throughout the body, including the brain, uterus, mammary glands, and other organs. When oxytocin binds to its receptors, it triggers a cascade of intracellular signaling events that ultimately influence physiological and behavioral responses. In the brain, oxytocin signaling plays role with trust, empathy, social recognition, pair bonding, and maternal behavior. In the reproductive system, oxytocin receptors mediate uterine contractions during childbirth and milk ejection (letdown) during breastfeeding. HiTSeeker OTR Cell Line from Innoprot allows the measurement of the activity and potency of ligands; such as Oxytocin.
