Human Gastric Fibroblasts (HGF) provided by Innoprot are isolated from human healthy stomach. HGF are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial of Human Gastric Fibroblasts contains more than 500.000 viable cells. They are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings following the instructions provided in the technical sheet.

Innoprot also offers optimized medium and reagents for the growth of Human Gastric Fibroblasts which are quality tested together and guaranteed to give maximum performance as a global solution for in vitro HGF culture.

Size/Quantity: 500.000 Cells / vial

Human Gastric fibroblasts (HGF), which are present in the stomach, are mesenchymal cells from the embryonic mesoderm. Fibroblasts secrete a non-rigid extracellular matrix that is both rich in type I and/or type III collagen. They are responsible of the synthesis of extracellular matrix in connective tissues and play a central role in wound healing. In addition to their role in wound healing, human gastric fibroblasts play an important role in the development and progression of gastric carcinoma. HGF are a useful model for examining the underlying mechanisms that cause gastric carcinoma; so they may provide novel insights for developing new cancer drug therapies.
